Make Your School Garden a Hub for Learning and Community
Energize Schools Garden Hub provides free services to elementary schools throughout San Francisco to help school communities engage with their garden. We offer teachers and school communities training workshops, instructional support, maintenance planning support, and access to garden curriculum and resources.
Free Services for Schools in San Francisco
The Energize Schools Garden Hub offers the following services — for free! Services are flexible and shaped by the needs and priorities of school partners and capacity of the Energize Schools Garden Hub team. Each partner school will receive a School Lead who will conduct a Needs Assessment to get a better sense of what the school is interested in and available resources within the community. School Leads will then work with schools to create a service plan made of the following services:
Program HistoryIn 2025, after bringing garden-based education to 9,000 children in San Francisco and San Mateo counties annually, SEI’s Climate Corps Education Outside (CCEO) program was ended due to federal funding cuts. Inspired by the school communities and garden educators who dedicated themselves to sparking curiosity, nurturing growth, and building community through school gardens over the last six years, SEI created the Energize School Garden Hub program to continue this important legacy.
