The SEI Climate Change Unit provides students with hands-on learning activities to explore the causes and consequences of climate change. Students learn about the fundamental scientific processes of climate change, mechanisms for evolution and coevolution with climate, causes and impacts of sea level rise, and threats currently facing our oceans such as ocean acidification and coral bleaching. Finally, students are empowered with information on climate change mitigation strategies, from everyday personal behavior shifts to controversial global geoengineering strategies. Students who complete the SEI Climate Change Unit will be equipped with the tools needed to act as climate leaders in their community.
