Dr. Le has been in the educational field for 11 years as a high school science educator, instructional coach, consultant, and educational leader. She currently is the Program Director of the University of California, Irvine Science Project (UCISP). She also served as a coordinator, lecturer, and program designer of the UCI CalTeach Math & Science Program. Her other prior roles include being the CA science instructional specialist for a program authored by the Lawrence Hall of Science, curriculum consultant for the UCLA Curtis Center, and program designer and facilitator for the UCLA Science Project. Kelley attended Leuzinger High in the inner city of Los Angeles, and is a first-generation student. She received her educational training from UCLA’s Center X Teacher Education Program, and the UCLA Educational Leadership Program (ELP). Her love of science comes from her resilient mother who immigrated from Vietnam as a refugee, and currently works for Boeing. Whenever there’s an opportunity, Kelley loves laying low in Maui with her family, expressing herself through dancing hula, and indulging in a cup of boba milk tea. She currently resides in the South Bay with her husband (who is also a high school math teacher), their two playful boys, and fury babies. Culturally Responsive Teaching Practices and Anti-Bias Education
We acknowledge the tragic acts of hate and violence, specifically to the AAPI community, we have seen happen recently across our country and particularly in the Bay Area. We recognize that systemic injustices pose barriers to equal access to quality education, livable wages, and a safe and healthy environment. For resources on culturally responsive teaching practices and anti-bias education, we recommend visiting:

Black Sustainability Leader Spotlight
Leah Thomas
Founder of Intersectional Environmentalist (IE) |
We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on Leah Thomas, eco-communicator and founder of Intersectional Environmentalist (IE)! In May 2020, following the murder of George Floyd, Leah called on the environmental community to make a pledge to Black lives and commit to a journey of intersectional advocacy. The post went viral, and online communities began looking for spaces to listen to and amplify these silenced voices. Today, IE is a platform for resources, information and action steps to dismantle systems of oppression within the environmental movement led by sustainability activists. Learn more about their work here. Learn more about Leah's career path in our Green Careers Webinar Series. |
